 Oxygen
pulls back the curtain on the tantalizing world of medi-spas with a new
reality workplace dramedy series, "Addicted to Beauty."
"Addicted to Beauty" follows the outrageous staff at Changes Plastic Surgery
and Spa, located in Southern California. Dianne York-Goldman, socialite and
marketing expert, has brought her over-the-top employees from her previous
spa to help with this new venture with well-known plastic surgeon Dr.
Gilbert Lee. The staff includes: Gary, the flamboyant and outspoken
receptionist; Ronnie, the eccentric concierge; Natasha, Dianne’s levelheaded
assistant and Shannyn, the whip cracking spa manager. However, this group
may be no match for Melanie (aka, "Mel"), Dr. Lee’s no nonsense office
manager who is not afraid of giving out tough love.
The workplace antics get out of control when the staff must learn to work
together for the common good of the business. As the pressure increases to
get the spa up and running, personalities clash and chaos ensues. Natasha
has to pick up Gary’s front desk slack, Ronnie is completely averse to
having Shannyn as his boss and Mel becomes fed up with the incompetency of
Dianne’s staff. Overall, it’s going to be a bumpy ride to success!
 The Cast
 Dianne York-Goldman
CEO, Changes Spa
Dianne York-Goldman is the quintessential high-society woman. An extremely
wealthy and savvy businesswoman, Dianne is recognized as a media expert,
speaker, author and model. She is the founder of a medical spa along with
her ex-husband.
As a well-known beauty expert, Dianne has been featured on several radio and
TV programs and contributed to several publications. She was a recipient of
the San Diego Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Award and also the
Most Admired CEO Award. She co-authored the popular two book series "You
Glow Girl!" and is the creator of the popular DYG Mineral Makeup line. In
addition, she founded You Glow Girl, a teenage skin care line and authored
the book "Fun in the Sun Safely."
Recently divorced, Dianne is at a turning point in her life and decides to
start fresh with her staff in tow and join forces with a well-known plastic
surgeon. Dianne is no stranger to plastic surgery, having had several
procedures herself including a nose job, a face-lift and countless
injectables.
Originally from St. Louis, Mo., Dianne currently resides in La Jolla, CA.
 Gilbert Lee, M.D.
Owner, Changes Spa
Board
Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Gilbert Lee is the owner of Changes Plastic
Surgery & Spa and has been in practice for 15 years. A California native,
Dr. Lee is known for his ability to deliver Artistry with Precision. His
Changes Plastic Surgery practice caters to the elite of Southern California.
He has been voted as one of San Diego’s "Top Doctors in Plastic Surgery" by
his peers for the last two years running.
Dr. Lee performs a full spectrum of plastic surgery procedures including
rhinoplasty, breast augmentations, face-lifts, and body contouring. He is
also known for his breast reconstructions on cancer victims and performing
numerous pro bono reconstructive procedures for people who can’t afford the
services of a top surgeon.
His new venture with Dianne York-Goldman is an attempt to take Changes to a
higher level of "selling beauty." Tapping into her marketing skills and
worldwide connections, Dr. Lee wants Dianne to help make Changes the number
one plastic surgery center in the nation.
Dr. Lee resides in San Diego, Calif. with his wife and two children.
 Natasha
Executive Assistant
As
executive assistant and confidante to Dianne, Natasha handles every detail
of her personal and professional life. Although the two women often clash,
Natasha is confident in her abilities and knows exactly how to manage
Dianne. Natasha prides herself on being able to say what’s on her mind,
which sometimes causes tension among her colleagues.
As for her cosmetic practices, Natasha is one of the least nipped and tucked
people in the office, only having had a breast augmentation.
Natasha has aspirations to one day own her own spa. Her family is hugely
important to her and she enjoys cooking and baking in her spare time.
Natasha resides in San Diego.
 Shannyn
Spa Director
As
the spa director, Shannyn has been put in charge of the staff at the medi-spa.
She is extremely career driven and does not tolerate inefficiency.
Personally, Shannyn has much experience with plastic surgery having gone
through numerous treatments including Botox, fillers, collagen, Restylane,
two breast augmentations and has worked in the plastic and dermatology
industry for ten years.
She hopes to one day have a skincare business of her own and is currently
working on developing her own lingerie line.
Originally from Albuquerque, N.M., she currently resides with her fiancé in
Sherman Oaks, California.
 Ronnie
Spa Concierge
Originally from Johnstown, Ohio, Ronnie serves as the spa concierge and has
worked in the beauty industry for ten years. He prides himself on being able
to use his "safe status" as a gay man to relate to the women that frequent
Dr. Lee’s practice, therefore making him a top sales person for the spa.
Ronnie is no stranger to the procedures offered at Changes. He has had his
nose and lips done and gets Botox every three months.
He dreams of one day starting is own makeup line and is using his experience
at the medi-spa to study Dianne’s business and learn from her successes and
failures.
Ronnie resides in San Diego with his fiancé, David.
 Gary
Receptionist
Gary
has worked in the beauty industry for seven years and has an impeccable
sales record. No stranger to Botox, he has been getting injections since he
was 18. He’s had cosmetic surgery for his nose and cheeks as well as lip
injections, and he is scheduled to get laser resurfacing on his face.
Gary has dreams of one day becoming a famous makeup artist. He resides in
San Diego with his long-time boyfriend and hopes that gay marriage will soon
be legalized so they can get married.
 Melanie
Office Manager
Melanie ("Mel") is the office manager at the medi-spa. As Dr. Lee’s right-
hand woman, she manages his work life and is constantly trying to keep him
on schedule. She is responsible for everything at the spa, from billing
patients to resolving office squabbles.
Mel is a very headstrong woman and has no patience for incompetence. She is
the pillar of Dr. Lee’s office and is very familiar with the process, having
been through several plastic surgery procedures herself.
Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., she had a blue-collar upbringing and
managed to make her way into La Jolla, one of the most exclusive enclaves in
America. |
